ISIS-K is operating in Afghanistan since 2015

After four attacks in a day only, ISIS shows its presence and is about to complicate the fragile situation in Afghanistan. Tens of killed and wounded in the rank of Azeris who planned to leave the country, but also among the American militaries who intended to help them, and ISIS-K has claimed the attacks.
US retreat inevitably created a vacuum of security, despite Taliban victories, and turned the country in a terrorist hub. Lately, as American media related, between 8.000 and 10.000 fighters have arrived in Afghanistan, great majority from Caucasus, Central Asia, Chechnya (Russia) and Xinjiang (China). They joined Taliban, but also Haqqani network, affiliated to Al Qaeda and so-called Islamic Afghanistan State franchise, better known as Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K).
This organization is not a recent one and it is operating in Afghanistan since 2015. It is distinguished by the criticism towards the version of Islam promoted by Taliban, considered as a false one, and the perpetration of kamikaze attacks. A great number of ISIS-K members are fundamentalist Taliban fighters discontents by the meaner of Islam interpretation.
The way of collaboration between ISIS-K and Haqqani network is still ambiguous, but even in the case when the two groups rich the level of rivalry, ISIS-K is capable, at present, to become itself a significant force in the region, not only for the Western countries, but also for China, Russia and Iran. And as long as Taliban leaders will be willing to cooperate with Beijing and Moscow, the ISIS-K ideology will be more easily legitimized in the ranks of its own members, and appear like a magnet for the future recruits.
