The Autonomous Administration proposes a “peaceful and democratic” solution to the Syrian crisis

In a recent statement, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced the launch of an initiative that aims to find a "peaceful and democratic" solution to the Syrian crisis.

The Autonomous Administration affirmed its readiness to meet with the Syrian government  and with all the Syrian parties in order "to consult and discuss to launch initiatives and find a solution to the Syrian crisis."

The initiative came in about nine points, through which the Autonomous Administration confirmed several issues, including the territorial integrity of Syria. And added that "a democratic solution should be reached wherein all segments of society participate, recognizing the legitimate rights of all components and establishing a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized political administrative system that preserves the rights of everyone without exception."

The initiative also emphasized the necessity of distributing wealth and economic resources “fairly among all Syrian regions,” and stressed “the need to share these resources in agreement with the Syrian government through dialogue and negotiation.”

The initiative also spoke about the necessity of reopening the Al-Yarubiyah (Tal Koçer) customs crossing points, and considered that “the main responsibility in this regard lies with the Syrian government, as a reasonable solution to this problem can be found that suits everyone and is in the interest of the Syrian people everywhere.” .

The Autonomous Administration expressed its willingness to receive those who have been displaced from their areas or who migrated abroad, within its available capabilities. And she continued: "With the aim of developing a democratic and peaceful solution in Syria, we turn to the Arab countries, the United Nations, and all international forces active in the Syrian issue, and we demand that they all play a positive and effective role that contributes to the search for a common solution with the Syrian government, the Autonomous Administration, and the national democratic forces."

And she concluded by saying: “We have a clear approach to a reasonable solution that we present to all parties to build a basis for dialogue and future agreement. We are presenting this initiative on a national basis, and we invite everyone to participate and contribute to it at the current stage, by accelerating efforts and endeavors aimed at bridging the rift and ending the conflict.”
