Security operations continue east of the Euphrates to stop leaders of ISIS secret cells

The Internal Security Forces (Assayish) of the "Self-Administration" of northeastern Syria announced the arrest of a leader suspected of leading a ISIS cell in the countryside of De ir- Ezzor, east of the country, while the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) managed to dismantle a cell affiliated with the same terrorist organization in the town of Al-Dashisha, south of Al-Hasakah governorate.

The special units of the “SDF” also arrested two leaders in the town of Manbij, east of Aleppo governorate, and these specific operations were carried out by the “SDF” and the security forces, with the air support of the international coalition forces and the US army.

An official spokesman for the security forces said that the special forces, in a tight security operation, arrested one of the leaders of the first ranks of ISIS. As the operation came after a series of monitoring, follow-up and investigation operations by members of the public security services. He also indicated that they were able, during the month of July, to arrest and detain several people suspected of involvement in the ranks of the organization's cells and to arrest prominent leaders, who threaten the stability of the region's population and exerted intimidation on civilians.

Since the elimination of the last stronghold of ISIS in the village of Al-Baghouz, in the eastern countryside of Deir-Ezzor in March 2019, the terrorist organization did not have any geographical or military spatial control left, and yet its security operations remained continuous, carried out by active sleeper cells in the region, mainly concentrated on the southern side of the Euphrates River.

These attacks extended towards the areas north of the river and on its eastern bank, which are under the control of the “SDF” forces and the international coalition led by Washington.
Recently, the anti-terrorism units of the “Qasd” forces, with the support and participation of the international coalition forces, carried out an operation against members of a cell belonging to

ISIS in the town of Dashisha, in the al-Shaddada district, south of the city of Al-Hasakah. According to preliminary investigations, it was stated that the members of this cell were involved in terrorist activities and struck the security and stability of the regions of Deir-Ezzor and Al-Hasakah.

An official of the "Qasd" forces said that the security operations carried out during the current month in the countryside of Al-Hasakah, Deir-Ezzor and the town of Manbij come within the framework of continuing security campaigns, in partnership with the international coalition. He confirmed that the forces arrested dozens of elements suspected of having links to ISIS cells, "including leaders and supportive elements that finance the organization's secret networks distribute money, provide weapons and smuggle the involved people."
